Privacy and Policy - Campus Marketplace

1. Information Collection

To ensure a secure environment exclusive to the CSPC community, we collect and process specific identification data:

Academic Identity: Use of @my.cspc.edu.ph institutional emails is mandatory for account creation.
Verification: We require Student ID Number and Certificate of Registration or Enrollment (COR/COE) uploads to verify enrollment status before granting marketplace access.
Transactional Data: Our automated scheduler collects meeting time frames, location preferences, and item IDs to facilitate seamless exchanges.

2. Data Privacy & Protection

Anonymity & PII

User profiles are minimized. Your personal phone number is hidden by default; communications are handled via the internal automated scheduler to protect your off-campus contact details.

Device Permissions

The PWA requests camera-only access for listing items. We do not access your gallery, location (outside of manual selection), or microphone.

3. Institutional Governance

The Campus Marketplace is an extension of institutional resources and is subject to the following administrative rules:

Visibility

Designated faculty moderators have administrative visibility over all transactions.

Auditing

Activity logs are maintained to audit transactions in case of disputes.

Moderation

We reserve the right to remove items that violate campus code of conduct.

4. Security Protocols

End-to-End Encryption

Sensitive data including passwords and verification documents are hashed and transmitted via HTTPS.

Role-Based Access (RBAC)

Data access is strictly limited based on user roles (Student, Moderator, Admin) to prevent unauthorized leaks.

5. No Return & Inspection

Finality of Transaction

Once a QR code is scanned to validate a transaction, the exchange is considered final. There are no returns facilitated through the PWA system.

User Responsibility

Users are solely responsible for physical inspection of items at the meeting point. Do not scan the validation code until you have confirmed the item's condition.

6. Data Retention & Limitations

This marketplace is a Capstone Project. As such, users should be aware of the following technical limitations:

Offline functionality is enabled via Service Worker caching. Local data on your device is managed by your browser's storage protocols and can be cleared via your browser settings.

Upon completion of the capstone project, the system will be turned over to the CSPC ICTU for continued operation and maintenance, ensuring students can continue to use the application.

The original capstone development team shall be absolved of all liabilities and maintenance responsibilities once the formal turnover to the institution is finalized.
